"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving."
~Colossians 2:6-7~
Serving the Lord in the Wenatchee Valley since 1954
I. For the Glory of God -
 - There are many examples in the Bible of times that God gave the command to go and sow the seed to the world.
   (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:47, Acts 1:8)
 - With that example, we too, as Christians, are called to go and do the same.
 - God is our Father, our Savior, and our Authority. So, when He gives a command, we must listen, and follow that command.
 - Sowing the seed is not a work of our own.
 - In our own power, might, and ability, we would fail.
 - It is, however, a work of the Holy Spirit
   (Zechariah 4:6, Acts 1:8).
 - We, as humans, and a church, are used as a tool to preach the gospel.
 - So, we must take advantage of the opportunity God has given us to be used by Him
 - When we follow God's command, and go through the power of the Holy Spirit, God will ultimately receive all of the glory for our actions.
 - As we sow that seed, the church can be used to glorify God
   (1 Corinthians 10:31)
    A. By Obeying God’s Command
    B. By Serving Him
        1. In the Church
        2. In the Lives of Others
    C. By Spiritual Growth
    D. By Worshipping God through Song and Praise

II. For the Good of Others
 - Every day, there are countless numbers of people dying and spending eternity in Hell
 - If we don't reach them for Christ, who will?
 - As we think ahead to that eternity, we should think of the eternity of others.
 - Ultimately, everyone will be somewhere forever.
 - It is up to us, as Christians, to help them understand the torment of hell, and the wonder of Heaven's eternal home.
 - Once someone accepts Christ as Savior, they too can go and reach others for Christ.
 - If you tell people, and they tell people, then the seed will be multiplied in many ways.
 - But first, we must go, and think of the good of others.
    A. By Creating an Environment of Fellowship
    B. By Creating an Environment of Love
        (Matthew 22:37-39, Mark 12:30-31, John 15:12)
    C. By Creating an Environment of Spiritual Growth
        (Psalm 92:12, Luke 1:80, 2:40, 52, 1 Peter 2:2, 2 Peter 3:18, 2 John 1:4)
    D. By Creating an Opportunity to Serve in God’s House

III. For the Gain of the Church Family
 - As people come to know Christ, they will need a place to assemble, and grow more in their relationship with Him.
 - They need good Biblical preaching
 - They need people around them to help them
 - They need people around them to encourage them
 - They need people around them to build them up
   (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
 - And they need a place they can get away from the world.
 - A good Biblical church is a great place for these people.
 - As, Lord-willing, God allows a church to reach individuals, it could, and should, continue to grow.
 - This may not always come physically and numerically, but should always grow spiritually.
 - This will be a good thing for the world to see, and participate in, as Christians do the work of God.
 - Churches can be used to help the family of God,
    A. By Training Individuals to Grow in Their Personal Relationship With Christ
    B. By Training Individuals to Go Out and Sow the Seed for Themselves
        1. To Family
        2. To Friends
        3. To the World
    C. By Training Individuals to Invest in the Ministry of a Good Biblical Church
    D. By Training Individuals to Serve Others, and Help Them Grow in Their Relationship With Christ
