About Us

Our church was chartered January 31, 1954, as Bible Baptist Church.  In the early 70's the name was changed to Lincoln Park Baptist Church.

We are an independent, fundamental Baptist church.  We use the King James Bible in our services.  Our music is conservative and traditional in style, enjoying the great hymns of the faith that have served Christians well throughout the years, as well as newer music which uses the conservative, traditional style of music to convey God's timeless truths.

We understand and follow God’s Great Commission to share the Gospel both here at home and unto the uttermost parts of the earth. We currently support twenty-three missionaries/mission projects here at home and around the world.

We are here to edify, to build up one another in the most holy faith, which was once delievered to the saints. Christ-likeness is the goal of our heavenly Father in our lives as believers. We are endeavoring to see that change take place day by day as we faithfully serve Him in our church.

Lincoln Park Baptist Church
Our Baptist Distinctives

Biblical authority-we believe that the Bible, God’s written revelation of Himself to mankind, is the believers’ and churches’ only authority for faith and practice.

Autonomy of the local church-this assembly is answerable to God alone and not to any man or ecclesiastical body for its authority to function and carry out its God-given responsibilities.

Priesthood of all believers-all believers today have equal status and access to God the Father through our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ being the only mediator between God and men.

Two ordinances-the two ordinances of the New Testament church are believers’ baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Table, communion, consisting of unleavened bread and unfermented fruit of the vine, grape juice.

Individual soul liberty-every person, whether believer or unbeliever, is at liberty to decide what they believe is right in the religious realm.   For the believer this liberty is rooted within the framework of Biblical teaching.  Also that all mankind is and will be held accountable before the Holy God for all they have done in this life.

Saved, baptized church membership-membership within the church consists of those who have given testimony of a life regenerated by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ as the only means of salvation, followed by baptism by immersion.

Two offices-the two offices of the New Testament church are pastor (pastor, bishop, elder) and deacon.

Separation of church and state-neither entity (church or state) controls the affairs of the other.  There is not to be a state-controlled church or a church-controlled state.
About our Pastor

Our pastor is Brian E. Ernsberger.  Having grown up in a Navy man’s home, he traveled with his family around this country of ours during his early school and high-school years.  While his family was residing in Eastern North Carolina, they were reached with the Gospel through the bus ministry of Calvary Baptist Church in New Bern.  Brian was saved in June of 1974 and was baptized a year later.  In the fall of 1979, he entered Bob Jones University as a freshman and graduated in 1988 with a BA; he completed an MA in 1990.
In the summer of 1993, Brian and his wife were accepted with Northwest Baptist Missions as home missionaries to Washington State.  He was ordained in March 1998, and they moved to Washington a month later.  They, along with their children, served as church planters in Lake Stevens for six years.
In 2005 they had a change in ministries. They moved to the Kent area and worked on the staff of Galilee Baptist Church/Cascade Vista Baptist School for three years.
We at Lincoln Park extended the call to Pastor Ernsberger in May 2008. He assumed the pastorate in July 2008 and began serving with us in our church and community.
